Wednesday in Paris, took place the election of members of the Executive Board of UNESCO (where seat 59 member countries). The names of the new Member States elected for two years, were announced at the twelfth plenary meeting of the General Conference by Michael Worbs, the Chairman of the Nominating Committee.

At the end of this vote, Haiti became a member of the UNESCO Executive Council with 150 votes in support out of 186 countries participating in the elections.
