Ardouin Zéphirin, the Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities and Pierre Richard Casimir, Minister of Justice and Public Security are alarmed by persistent rumors circulating in the country for some time and which refer to armed groups terrorizing the population stating that "These rumors that are likely to create a psychosis of fear for families and plunge the country into chaos. Also, the National Police of Haiti had already taken all measures to identify, arrest and bring to justice the possible suspects in case these rumors would be verified."

The Ministers Zéphirin and Casimir reiterated their commitment to maintaining a climate of serenity in the country, to ensure the safety of lives and property and peace in homes, while allowing the population to freely go about their business.

They call on the population to remain calm, not to engage in acts of summary justice and let the police and the Justice act responsibly.
