iciHaiti - Social : Thanks to Canada...

In order to promote the integration and access to economic, social and political life of persons with disabilities, an International Day of persons with disabilities was proclaimed by the United Nations, on December 3rd, 1992. Canada's theme this year is "Moving from Discussion to Action: Leveraging Variabilities Today and Tomorrow".
Handicap International, with the help of Canada, provided health services to 10,000 beneficiaries in Haiti, held more than 82,000 basic care and physical rehabilitation sessions, distributed some 5,600 technical aids such as mobility aids, orthopedic devices and specialized equipment and fitted some 900 beneficiaries for prostheses.
