The growing socio-political instability, since the beginning of this electoral year, combined among other to a drought phenomenon that has affected the spring harvest, are responsible for negative impact on the already fragile economy of Haiti (lower investments, higher inflation, devaluation of the Gourde...)

This year, inflation, either on a monthly or annual basis broke records, reaching 12% in November, the highest since 2008.
