iciHaïti - Diplomacy : The Chancellor Renault met the Ambassador of Cuba
The Haitian Chancellor Lener Renauld, met the Ambassador of Cuba accredited to Port-au-Prince, Ricardo Garcia Naples, to discuss issues related to the holding of the next ministerial meeting of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) to be held on 18 and 19 January in Haiti, under the Presidency "pro tempore" of Cuba.

Recall that the ACS is an organization born in 1994 in Colombia, which aims to identify and promote cooperation and concerted action among all the countries of the Caribbean region. The two men also discussed regional issues, particularly those concerning the bilateral cooperation Cuba-Haiti.

Furthermore, in Havana, on the occasion of 212th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of Haiti and the 57th of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, three floral wreaths were laid. One at the monument of Jose Marti (in Central Park) and two respectively in front of the Toussaint Louverture and Alexandre Petion busts (at the Fraternity Park)

Bernard Degraff, Ambassador of Haiti to Cuba said in the circumstances, that what happened in Haiti in 1804 showed the Americas peoples how to find their sovereignty. He also stressed the excellent diplomatic relations between Cuba and Haiti, united by history.
