In a statement, the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH) deplores the recent incident that took place in Labadee https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16371-haiti-flash-labadee-port-calls-canceled-due-to-demonstration.html forcing the Royal Caribbean cruise ship company to cancel the scheduled port of call scheduled for Haiti.

"The ATH stresses that these events do not reflect the traditionally warm and friendlywelcome of the people of Haiti.

The ATH recalls that tourism industry is a carrier for the country, enabling economic and social development of several sectors to the benefit of local people. Also the sites and national tourist circuits must be considered by all as strategic areas to protect, to keep Haiti on the national and international tourist map.
