iciHaiti - Education : Inauguration of the Vocational school of Cap-Haitien
This week Marina Gourgue, Secretary of State for Vocational Training, accompanied by Mervil Guillaumette, the Director General of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) in Haiti, in the presence of the Interim Agant, Yvon Alteon and several executives of the INFP and of the Programme Coordination Unit (UCP) proceeded to the inauguration of the Vocational Training Centre of Cap-Haitien.
This Vocational Training Centre of a constructed area of 3,631.58 m2 which includes among others : an Administrative building, Hangars for workshops, Sanitary bloc & Drawing room, Regional Inspectorate, Auditorium, Cafeteria & Central Store, Housing of Guardian and Laundry room, has cost over 2.2 million US dollars ($2,253,294.80) funded by the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) and the Caribbean Development Bank (BCD).
The specialties taught in this Centre are : industrial cutting, building construction, the work of wood, auto mechanics, electricity, plumbing and IT. After 2 years of training, students receive a Certificate of Professional Competence (BAP), which allows them to enter the labor market.
