The Head of the Dominican Republic's army, Major-General Joseph E. During his tour, the head of the army said that the Dominican authorities "have taken preventive measures of We will spare no effort or resources to preserve and protect our border [...] the military supervision has been strengthened and instructions were given to employees to act with caution, restraint and discipline," adding "We have specific instructions from the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General W. maximum-Muñoz Delgado, of continuing to ensure and intensify border protection operations face the uncertain situation in Haiti."
