A training module on disability was recently introduced in the training of students in Nursing. This module of 12 chapters, introduced into the curricula of future health professionals, is a specific professional approach. The goal is to properly equipping thesestakeholders to better understand disability issues and develop a respectful posture of human rights.

The module deals with the international classification of disability, different types of disabilities and their causes, of factors to consider for the good reception of disabled people in hospitals, among others.

Train and equip the resource persons of Nursing schools such as executives, teachers, directors; sensitize the nurses in the making on disability issues and on the prevention of disabilities; facilitate the acquisition of basic knowledge necessary for establishing an efficient and medico-social relationship and adequate care for disabled people in different health facilities in Haiti are the objectives of this module.

A new stage in the process of building an inclusive Haitian society, respectful of human rights in general and the disabled in particular.
