Wednesday Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and members of the international community in Haiti, represented on the Core Group the ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, France, Spain, the United States of America, the European Union and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States) met with President a.i. Jocelerme Privert in order to discuss on the current state of the implementation of the Political Agreement of February 5, which provides the institutional continuity and the continuation of the electoral process begun in 2015.

By reiterating the importance of conducting this political agreement to its term the Core Group emphasized the paramount importance of taking all necessary steps to ensure the proper functioning of the State institutions and of government as well as the outcome of the electoral process with the organization of the second round of presidential elections, by-elections and local elections on time.

The Core Group remains confident that all stakeholders will prevail the superior interest of Haiti and its people in a spirit of dialogue and consensus, in order to achieve the political and electoral process under way.
