Following the floods in early March, which have particularly affected the North region and on request of the Presidency, the Government has promised 150 millions Gourdes in emergency, to help the worst affected populations https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16802-haiti-politic-flood-150-million-gourdes-for-victims.html

However, the former Minister of Agriculture Joanas Gué, one of the Adviser to the President a.i. Jocelerme Privert says on the basis of an evaluation conducted by a special team on the field, that 700 million gourdes would be needed to achieve the required response work.

Adviser Gué indicated that over 2,000 people will be involved for 6 weeks in the work of repairs and remediation and that 3,000 affected families will receive assistance from the State. He urges the authorities to act quickly in the disbursement of pledged emergency funds to help the victims...
