This week, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), in partnership with the Group Croissance, proceeded to the launch of a handbook on Gender Sensitive Budgeting (Budgétisation Sensible au Genre - BSG).

This new tool, designed to enable parliamentarians (100% men so far) to be better informed, to take into account the needs of women in various sectors such as among others : health, economy and agriculture and better plan the various allocations in the state budget, explained Marie Laurence Jocelyn Lassegue, Programme Director of the IDEA.

This handbook on BSG should serve as a guide to facilitate the integration of women's priorities in the national budget and also to create, enhance and strengthen programs implemented for the benefit of Haitian women.
