iciHaiti - Security : Risk Management Workshop in schools

Friday, the organization Plan Haiti conducted a workshop with members of the Risk Management Committees on risk analysis and evacuation systems in schools. One hundred participants (38 women) including principals, teachers, students, parents, small staff of 10 schools of the project took part in this workshop.

This training was designed to help participants identify and analyze the risks of their respective institutions.

The audience was able to develop a presentation and characteristics of their respective institutions and the profile of schoolchildren. There has been talk on sudden hazards (geological disasters, earthquake, collapse, flooding, big storm etc... of risks with slow evolution (air quality, industrial pollution, erosion etc... and other hazards such as insecurity and accidents.

After identification and risk analysis, maps of these risks have been drawn manually. A simulation exercise will follow the workshop to test the maps developed by and for schools.
