Yves Romain Bastien, the Minister of Economy and Finance has proceeded to the installation last week of Me Lionel Constant Bourgoin as the new Director General of the Fight Against Corruption Unit (ULCC). He replaces Rodiny Jean-Baptiste in office for over a year.

In his words of circumstance, the new DG, magistrate by training, former director of the School of Magistrates and former Director of the Judicial Inspection of the Superior Council of the Judicial Police (CSPJ), declared "It is with a sense of pride and duty that I will act as Director of ULCC, ethically and responsibly in order to fight against corruption, which threatens the safety of citizens, undermines the credibility of institutions, which prevents building the rule of law and jeopardizing the State [...]" promising that he will reassess the strategy against corruption, in order to better get it in phase with the public administration and society, in an anticipatory perspective and of repression.
