She asserts "in the Dominican Republic, there are more than one million Haitians who invaded peaceful the territory with the complicity of the authorities," nsuring that that if elected, she will take the necessary steps to reduce the number of Haitian on Dominican territory "We need to restore order and we will do it [...]" lamenting that "every time the government as a representative of a sovereign state, attempts to regulate the migration of Haitians, the country is put under pressure by foreign powers to prevent it from acting according to circumstances [...] we will not allow that pressure be put on us." Soraya Aquino stressed that it is the international community that must collaborate in solving Haiti's problems, because the Dominican Republic can not have the burden of the needs of the neighboring country.
