The « Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas » (DNCD), in collaboration with the Intelligence Directorate of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (J-2) of the Dominican Republic seized 95 pounds of marijuana that were in the hold of a bus to Santo Domingo, which carrying several Haitians undocumented through the Malpasse border in Jimani.

The drugs were inside two suitcases which belonged to a Haitian couple. Realizing the intervention of Dominican agents, the woman managed to escape to Haiti, while his companion was arrested at the scene. Dominican authorities began the hunt for the fugitive and advised the Haitian authorities.

The drugs that were distributed in 19 packages were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Science. Note that in recent weeks, the DNCD seized during various operations, dozens of marijuana packets from Haiti.
