iciHaiti - Agriculture : Expansion of agricultural cooperation with Cuba

Laurore Guitho, the new Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, met at the Ministry with the Cuban Ambassador, Luis Castillo Campos, to review the status of cooperation in the sector and the necessity to strengthen links and existing commitments between the Ministries of Agriculture of both countries.
The meeting focused on the priorities of the agricultural sector in the development of Haiti. The Minister Guitho expressed his interest to develop some potential sectors with the Cuban cooperation particularly in the fields of fisheries, veterinary care and sugar. He also discussed the procedures to be implemented by the authorities of the Ministry to improve the performance of cooperation brigades in this area.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador expressed the will and the support of his Government to maintain and develop the Cuban cooperation in the agricultural sector in Haiti.
