iciHaiti - Literature : Haitian laureates of Contest of «twittérature» of the Americas 2016
Four Haitians are among the laureates of the 2nd edition of the contest "twittérature" of the Americas, which took place from 1 to 29 February 2016 on the social network Twitter. They are in the post-secondary category (French second or foreign language) Jean Kensle Figaro and Junior Gustave and in the adult category (French second or foreign language) Georges Maurice Saintilaire and Samuel Simonis.

After this 2nd edition, 30 laureates "twittérateurs" from Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, the United States, Haiti, Panama, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina have been rewarded.

Under the theme "Améripoésie", the contest "twittérature" of the Americas, presented in partnership with Richelieu International in collaboration with the Institute "twittérature" compared, joined elementary students, secondary, post-secondary and the adults for whom French is the mother tongue or second.

Participants published on Twitter poetic texts of 140 characters or less. The 2016 edition gathered over 900 texts and has attracted the participation of a dozen countries in the Americas. An international multidisciplinary jury of education professionals, of media, of the literature and linguistics field, selected the laureates based on originality, quality of language and the use of figure of speech.

Knowing increasing success, the Americas Francophone Centre will present a 3rd edition of this activity in February 2017. In addition, a digital book brings together all tweets will be published in the fall and will be available on the portal of Centre.
