Thursday, the Embassy of Haiti in Ecuador has provided assistance to the victims of the magnitude of 7.8 earthquake that occurred on April 16 and made 646 dead, 12,492 wounded and 26,091 affected people, according to the latest balance sheet reported by the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa. A delegation from the Embassy of Haiti handed to Paola Cabezas Governor of the province of Esmeraldas and Julio Cesar Quinonez Governor of the province of Guayas, more than 3,000 gallons of water, 2,500 food kits, coffee and boxes of salmon.

This gesture of the Haitian government through its Embassy, demonstrates its recognition to this brother country, which had provided substantial aid to Haiti after the earthquake of 12 January 2010.

Note that a team of Haitian students in Ecuador are currently assisting as volunteer in the areas affected by the earthquake.
