Because of a low pressure system currently located north of Haiti rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected in several departments of the country, at this beginning of May, especially on the departments of North, Centre, Southeast, South, Grand-Anse and West.

The accumulation of recurring rainy days saturated soils, making it unstable in places and increased runoff water likely to cause various damages in addition to floods, landslides and mudslides.

The Ministry of Interior, maintains the call for vigilance launched for the population and urges it to identify potential risks in their immediate environment, to take the first necessary measures and notify the authorities, in order to preserve their life and that of their relatives.

Given the persistence of bad weather, people in risk areas are advised to remain vigilant and strictly implement the safety regulations of the Civil Protection.
