He recalled that Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Economy then responsible for the ban, had taken this measure to "a better quality control and to better ensure the safety of the population" bu that for many other sectors, "it was rather a way to favor the rich, in particular the great traders of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince."
The deputy said support the strengthening of the agro-industrial sector in the country, but criticized that provision taken September 15, 2015 under the Martelly administration, saying it has only widened the gap between rich and poor merchants to the expense of the population.
