iciHaiti - Security : The Minustah after 12 years, leaves its base of Laborde

As part of its gradual withdrawal in Haiti, the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (Minustah) has handed over to local authorities, the keys of their base located in Laborde (communal section of Les Cayes) that peacekeepers and the soldiers of the Minustah had occupied for 12 years (2004-2016).
This is Jean-Jacques Théobal, the Departmental Director of the Ministry of Economy that received at a ceremony, symbolically the keys from a an official of the Minustah. Now this base and its buildings belong to the Haitian government. Officials of the Public University of the South, present at the ceremony expressed their interest to occupy this former military base.
