iciHaiti - NOTICE : Smuggling Task Force again taking action

The Ministry of Economy and Finance, advises merchants and importers in particular and the general population that following a meeting of the Task Force on smuggling, held at the National Palace "inspection brigades composed of Customs officers of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) and the National Police of Haiti (PNH) will proceed to visit various depots and shops in the capital and provincial cities in order to ensure the regularity of customs and tax operations [...]

[...] The Government shows its determination to fight against smuggling, a scourge that threatens national production, represents a significant shortfall for tax administration, introduced unfair competition and poses risks to the health of the population .

[...] According to the law, owners and managers of commercial companies are required to submit at the request of the brigades"

Recall that the Task Force smuggling was established by the Government Martelly in 2014 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11932-haiti-economy-the-task-force-fills-the-state-coffers.html but yet its successful activities were discontinued, and resumed in August 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14866-haiti-economy-reactivation-of-the-task-force-against-smuggling.html then discontinued and now reactivated by the Provisional Government...
