The Haitian painter and photographer Gérald Bloncourt, installed in France in the late 1940s, will receive from the Portuguese Republic the Order of "Infante Dom Henrique" to the rank of Commander. It is an order that aims to distinguish those who have rendered service to Portugal, particularly in the promotion of its history, its values and its culture. This distinction reflects the public recognition of his outstanding career as a photographer and artist, recognized both in Portugal and France.

Born November 4, 1926 at Bainet (Haiti), Gérald Bloncourt is the author of an abundant and varied work (painting, drawing, poetry, engraving...)
