iciHaiti - Communication : Inauguration of a new television station in Les Cayes

Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Les Cayes, in the presence of several hundred guests including officials from the region was inaugurated the "Télévangélique du Grand Sud" (TGS), Channel 11.

According to the Director, Mr. Jean Robert Carrié, the coming of this new television station is motivated by the desire to serve others and above all to defend even better and share Christian values and the lasting values like the respect for others, honesty, community spirit, the retained and measured words...

For his part, Richie Charles, a founding member of the TGS stated that "the programming of the TGS will consist of educational, cultural programs and especially evangelicals including biblical studies and Christian music contest; the activities of different churches will be broadcast live."

Joël Lorquet who attended the inauguration said that "TGS, as a modern electronic media communication means and persuasive and should be used "not only for the proclamation of the Gospel but also to contribute to a massive civic education campaign of Haitians for their active participation in the change process of Haiti."

Initially, the TGS will emit 24/24 and will cover an area of 30 kilometers, but is considering in a second phase to cover the whole of the Southern Department with a 1 kW transmitter.
