An operational team of the National Directorate for the Control of Drugs (DNCD) of the Dominican Republic seized a quantity of 23 pounds of marijuana from Haiti, at Elías Piña.

The marijuana was transported on a motorcycle by two men, feeling discovered by agents of the DNCD, they threw the packet on the ground and managed to escape, for now we do not know the nationality of these two men.

Packets of hallucinogenic plants, have been sent to the National Institute of Forensic Science (INACIF) of that counry, while actively pursuing the fugitives.

This operation follows information from the intelligence service of the South Central Division of the DNCD who who reported an unspecified amount of marijuana that was to be transported from Haiti in the early morning hours across the border with Elías Pina (Belladère-Comendador).
