In the framework of the Week of Higher Education, Research and Development, June 6 to 13, Jean-Paul Gaudemar the Rector of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) will be on mission in the country.

He will take advantage of his stay to meet particularly Jean Beauvois Dorsonne, the Minister of National Education and Universities Rectors members of the AUF in Haiti.

During his mission, he will also take part on June 9 at the General Assembly of the Conference of Rectors, Presidents and Directors of University Institutions of the Caribbean (CORPUCA) members of the AUF and to the launch June 10 of the Interuniversity Chair of Caribbean Studies.

As part of the 41st Conference of the Association of in Caribbean studies (AEC) where almost 800 academics from the Caribbean are expected, he will visit the Campus Henri Christophe of Limonade of the State University of Haiti (UEH) in Cap Haitien.

Installed as Rector of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie in December 2015, succeeding Bernard Cerquiglini, Jean-Paul Gaudemar is an economist. He was special adviser to the Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research of France (Ms. Geneviève Fioraso then Ms. Najat Vallaud-Belkacem and Thierry Mandon) after being from 2012 to 2014, Education Adviser of french Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault.
