Jean Marie Altéma, Director General of the Executive Body of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) said in a note, having learned with great sorrow the death, Michel Stéphane Bruno, vice president of the Haitian Association for Information Technology and Communication (AHTIC), assassinated on the evening of June 15 in dramatic circumstances.

Recall that that evening, in Puits-Blain 17, impasse La Verdure, betwen 8 p.m. and 8h30 p.m. Michel Stéphane Bruno, was picked someone, who was already in his Land Cruiser Jeep, when he was intercepted by two armed men on a motorcycle. One of the two men ordered him to get off the vehicle, attempting to flee one of the bandits fired on Bruno, fatally wounding him.

"In a tearful occasion, the Executive Board of CONATEL salutes the memory of this young activist (born in Port-au-Prince, May 8, 1974) of the ICT sector in relation with its contribution to the modernization and development of the said sector.

To his family, employees and friends grieving hard by this loss, the Executive Body of CONATEL, expresses its most heartfelt condolences."
