iciHaïti - Justice : 198 detainees released from the National Penitentiary

Sunday as part of the fight against prolonged preventive detention, during a ceremony at the National Penitentiary of Port-au-Prince, the Government Commissioner Jean Danton Léger, proceeded to the release of 198 prisoners. He also indicated that over 700 inmates files were currently being examined to validate or not the release of the concerned.
The Chief Prosecutor's Office stated, without further details, that the released prisoners benefited from a State aid so they can earn a living in dignity and prevent their falling back into delinquency...
