iciHaiti - Diplomacy : The new Consul in New York, dialogue with Haitian leaders

On Friday, Me Peter Helder Bernard, the new Consul of the Republic of Haiti in New York, installed on June 20 (replacing the former consul general Charles Antoine Forbin), initiated a dialogue with leaders of the Haitian community inviting them to participate in an exchange of ideas to create a new spirit to the Consulate General.
After thanking the participants, he called for a revival of civic consciousness and assured the community, that he would be at his side towards a fresh start. He urged the leader to help him to know the needs of the community and declared his commitment to New York where he lived and where he was educated. "I love New York, and New York must love Haiti."
Continuing, he quoted the words of the Reverend Jesse Jackson "if my mind can conceive it, my heart can believe it, I know I can accomplish achieve it."
