Norma Powell, Director of Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) revealed a decline in foreign direct investments of the order of 20% for fiscal year 2016 which ended late September.

She deplored of points of confusion in the investment code, wish that new sectors are added to the code (voted by legislators 14 years ago) and emphasizes the need for the criteria are made public to reassure entrepreneursinterested in the tax benefits granted by the Haitian government.

Faced with this situation, the Facilitation Operations Department of CFI, organized, Tuesday, July 12 an information workshop on procedures of application of Benefits Incentives around the theme: Benefits Incentives: A stimulant for investments.

This workshop allowed the CFI to popularize the process of obtaining Incentives Benefits and privileges of Investment Code and to the private sector to address its problems directly to the heads of public institutions involved in investment activities.
