On Wednesday, the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) and the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) have proceeded to the inauguration of the National School of Furcy.

The ceremony was attended by the representative of the Presidency, the mayor of Kenscoff, Nadal Estimé, of members of Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES) including its Director Lucien Francoeur, a representative of the IDB, Ezekiel Marcelin, the Director of the National School of Furcy, Francius St-Luc, students and professors and other invited guests for the occasion.

The school Furcy destroyed by the earthquake of 12 January 2010 was rebuilt as part of the post-earthquake projects of the Haitian state to rebuild the school park, the institution has 14 classrooms including 2 for preschool, a library, a dining hall and a computer room, all in compliance with seismic and climate standards.

Recall that Furcy National School will celebrate its 100 years of existence at the service of the community in 2019.
