iciHaiti - Elections : The first OAS observers arrived

Thursday as part of the election of 9 October, Chancellor Pierrot Délienne welcomed a first team of observers from the Organization of American States (OAS), on the some 125 observers that will deploy the hemispheric Organization in Haiti at the invitation of the Haitian Government. France and the United States committed themselves to contribute financially to the deployment of the Electoral Observation Mission (EOM).

The EOM will be composed of officials of the General Secretariat of the organization, of individuals from the OAS and international observers recruited by the General Secretariat for the needs of the mission in Haiti.
