In order to fight against attacks and looting of humanitarian aid transport, shoot-out of individuals who takes advantage of the confusion of the situation and protect the shelters where the victims took refuge, US marines provide support to the National Police of Haiti (PNH), in some operations, indicated Michel-Ange Gédéon, Director General of the police institution.

In the Grand'Anse, agents of thelaw enforcement have already arrested several individuals who specialized in the lynching of people, informed Gédéon "We conduct joint operation as well, agents of specialized units of the PNH and marines were in the South and the Grand'Anse this weekend to support our men deployed at these departments."

Regarding the mobility of police, the Director Gédéon recalled that the marines had put at his disposal their helicopters to transport men and equipment in the areas of intervention and that US forces also handed them motorcycles.
