iciHaiti - Literature : National Contest of the novel, filing of works postponed

The National Directorate of Book (DNL) informs, that due to Hurricane Matthew on Haiti, the date for filing the texts for the National Award Jacques Stephen Alexis (JSA) of Novel was postponed to October 21, 2016.

This prize that intends to perpetuate the memory and work of JSA (native of Gonaives 1922-1961), aims to reward an emerging feather in the field of fictional creation (Creole or French) and also promote the winning work in the need to encourage young writers to revisit the major works of our greatest novelists, including Jacques Stephen Alexis which marked the annals of Haitian literature with his novels : "Compère général soleil" (1955) ; "Les Arbres musiciens" (1957) ; L'Espace d'un cillement (1959), "Romancero aux étoiles" (1960), Collection "L'Imaginaire", Paris, Gallimard.
