iciHaiti - Agriculture : More than 90% of the coconut trees destroyed in the South
Tuesday at the Primature, as part of the series of conferences to inform the population on the damage and responses Post-Matthew Pierre Guito Laurore, the Minister of Agriculture and Arnoux Séverin, Director General of the Ministry have drawn a gloomy picture of the agricultural sector.

The Minister Laurore reported that all agricultural sectors had been severely damaged and are in need of significant support for their recovery stating that 90 to 95% of Coconut trees are destroyed in the southern peninsula. In Beaumont, coffee trees are ravaged and the same situation is prevailing in Dame Marie for Cocoa.

The Ministry announces the release within hours of a costed and detailed report on the damage recorded in both vegetation, fisheries and livestock.
