According to a partial assessment of the National Confederation of Haitian voodoo practitioners (Konfederasyon nasyonal vodouyizan ayisyen / KNVA), following the passage of Hurricane Matthew, 625 peristyles of voodoo sanctuary has been destroyed (276 in the South and 349 in Nippes).

The mambo Euvonie Georges Auguste states that Côtes-de-Fer, Bainet and Belle-Anse (Southeast) are the three areas where it is reported most of voodoo sanctuaries damaged or destroyed.

The NVA launched the "Adoquin" operation (until late October) to assist thousands of voodoo practitioners victims through the affected departments.
