Following the passage of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti, the call to the community of Peter Helder Bernard, Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in New York, attracted the attention of a significant number of good Samaritans.

Thus, Dr. Myung Sonoda, a Japanese doctor who has just retired after a brilliant career, has kindly donated to Haiti medical equipment including a state-of-the-art Hysteroscope, which allows the examination of the uterine cavity.

The Consul General visited Dr. Sonoda in her Cabinet in order to evaluate the measures to be taken for the shipment of this equipment.

He warmly thanked Dr. Sonoda, on behalf of the Government of Haiti, for the extraordinary service that such equipment will provide for the health of women in Haiti.
