iciHaiti - Panama : Donation of bio-enriched seeds

The responsibles of the Institute of Agricultural Research of Panama (IDIAP) confirmed that the Institute will make a donation in the first half of 2017 of bio-enriched seed varieties in Haiti whose fields have been devastated by the passage of Hurricane Matthew early October of this year.
The quantity of seed offered will be decided in the coming months after a visit of Panamanian officials to assess the needs, in order to identify areas that meet the requirements for planting each crop, explained IDIAP.
Among the varieties of seeds to be sent are rice, beans, corn, sweet potato, potato, sweet pepper, bananas and cassava, indicated the Institute.
