iciHaiti - Politics : The MPCE presents the restitution of the Post-Matthew report
In the presence of bilateral and multilateral donors, technical and financial partners, representatives of civil society, Aviol Fleurant, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation recently launched the restitution workshop of the Post-Matthew Needs Assessment Report.

In his speech, Minister Fleurant pointed out that Matthew, while acknowledged to be the least lethal in its category, will continue to have devastating effects on agriculture, the environment, tourism, industry and related sectors, the longest in our memories. It has virtually destroyed all the bases of the economy of Haiti.

On the other hand, he once again appealed to the donor community, traditional partners and all the friends of Haiti for a new pact to be established in the name of solidarity between peoples.

He also hoped that the economic take-off, institutional modernization and internationalization of our cultural and social values and the emergence of a modern society would become a reality by 2030.

Finally, he took the opportunity to draw the attention of everyone to the fact that no development plan will remain valid in the geographical space of the country without first worrying about the implementation of a real strategy focused on Development and management of space. The management of territoriality is at the heart of any planning process, he said.
