Monday in the town of Les Cayes, several students of the École Pierre Corneille were inconvenienced or lost consciousness, following the explosion of a tear-gas grenade coming from the Police Station of Les Cayes This caused panic among the other students.

Marc André Cadostin, the Departmental Director of Police, apologized and explained that a tear gas grenade had been accidentally unclogged during a cleaning of equipment at the police station of Les Cayes.

In this unfortunate affair, and whose the details remain unclear, the Minister of Justice Camille Edouard Jr. stated that he kept himself informed of the accident and that an investigation had been opened to shed light on this regrettable incident.
