iciHaiti - Politics : Words of Privert on Fidel Castro
Sunday in Santiago de Cuba to participate in the posthumous tribute to Commander Fidel Castro, de facto President Jocelerme Privert in an interview given to the "Agencia Cubana de Noticias" declared "[...] the Cuban people are not not alone in their pain caused by the death of the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, the Haitians and all the peoples of the world also cry [...]" adding "Fidel was not only a leader of the island, but also a world leader [...]" regretting not having known him personally.

He expressed his solidarity with the Greater Antilles and seized the opportunity to send his condolences for what he described as "an immeasurable loss for Latin America." He said he could not miss the tribute to the leader and express the deepest respect, recognition, friendship and gratitude of the Haitian people to Fidel and the Cubans.

The ashes of Fidel Castro were deposited in the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia in Santiago, alongside the heroes of the Fatherland who rest in this cemetery, such as José Martí, Father de la Patria, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes and Frank País, the "moncadistas" and 52 generals of the struggle for the independence of Cuba.
