He said he could not miss the tribute to the leader and express the deepest respect, recognition, friendship and gratitude of the Haitian people to Fidel and the Cubans.

The ashes of Fidel Castro were deposited in the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia in Santiago, alongside the heroes of the Fatherland who rest in this cemetery, such as José Martí, Father de la Patria, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes and Frank País, the "moncadistas" and 52 generals of the struggle for the independence of Cuba.
