As part of the 4th Legislature of the Youth Parliament, held in the Haitian Parliament for two days earlier this week, the Young President of Haiti Amos Cincir presented his State of the Nation speech.

In his remarks to the National Assembly of Young Members of Parliament and Senators of the Youth Parliament Cincir atressed that "[...] the absence of jobs and idleness among young people darken future prospects. This makes them vulnerable to the demagogic incantations of certain politicians and to the malicious manipulation of certain nostalgic foreign part nostalgic for a time well past [...]"

Further, he urged all young people in Haiti "to take their destiny in hand, order to give themselves the legal means to decide the future of their country and participate in its governance, rather than to serve eternally as a step to political actors who often have nothing to offer our people but rather accounts to be rendered to the latter."
