Greeting from the Ambassador G. Lamothe :

We have come to the end of a year which, in many respects, has proved difficult for Haiti. I am thinking in particular of the cancellation of the elections which disrupted the political climate, and Hurricane Matthew, which in early October struck our country with this destructive force that we know, leaving behind a big desolation.

We want to rejoice to see a year like that go. But it would be incorrect not to mention the positive developments that also marked 2016. For example the success of the electoral day of November 20 or the renewed solidarity of Mexico with Haiti after the passage of hurricane Matthew.

The arrival of 2017 carries a lot of hope.

The hope of a year without disaster.

The hope for political stability and sustained growth that our country so badly needs.

The hope of a better tomorrow for all.

May all these wishes come to fruition.

To each of you, I wish you a happy holiday season.
