Haiti - Christmas : Two artists and Diaspora join forces to bring joy to children

On Sunday 25th, in Valère (near of Arniquet) in the south of the country, the artists Evelyne Baille and Joël Lorquet distributed toys to a hundred children (aged 3 to 7 years) on the occasion of Christmas. Children also received clothes and a food kit to bring to their homes. The items offered were obtained through donations from individuals in Florida.
According to Evelynen Baille "This activity was initiated with the aim of bringing joy to the needy children especially since they are devoid of any after the passage of Hurricane Matthew."
For his part Joël Lorquet declared "We did not come to celebrate Christmas but rather to bring comfort to these children, following the passage of Matthew. This is why, this year, the Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti, has joined this noble initiative, in spite of its limited means [...]"
