For the last few days, at the Dajabon border post, hundreds of Haitians have been observed, loaded with merchandise purchased from the city's commercial establishments or other towns in the province of Cibao, who are returning to Haiti to spend the end of year holidays in their family.

It should be noted that Haitians must present documents to the Haitian and Dominican authorities proving that they are in good standing. The Dominican immigration authorities together with the military authorities and the police are very vigilant to detect the Haitian citizens in an irregular migratory situation on the Dominican territory, to repatriate them to Haiti.

Friday, 2 days of the new year there was a strong traffic on the binational border market which is held every week on Monday and Friday.
