iciHaiti - Diaspora : Wishes from the Minister a.i of MHAVE, but...

On the occasion of the End of year and New Year celebrations, Pierrot Délienne, the Minister a.i. of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) presented his wishes...

"Sisters and brothers from outside, the year 2016 is coming to its end and [...] I am addressing you to present my most sincere wishes for the year 2017.

I urge you to come to the country to not only visit the family, do tourism and also invest. We surely have one of the best investment plans in Latin America and the Caribbean and I am sure that you would be in a position not only to increase your wealth but also to help the country's brothers and sisters.

The country needs you. The country wants by your presence that everything goes for the best. Again I invite you to visit Haiti Chérie. The country is you, you are the country [...] As we say in Creole 'men nan men chay pa lou'. I wait for you, the country awaits you, the Haitian people awaits you [...] Thank you"

But beyond the beautiful words... it is very regrettable that Minister Délienne, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, has not had a word for our compatriots in the Dominican Republic, especially the 140,000 Haitians living on the Dominican territory, registered in the National Regularization Plan for Foreigners (PNRE), which need, among other things, a compulsory passport to be able to renew their temporary migration regularization card, to explain them why he had promised they would receive their documents by the end of 2016 and that they had received nothing and why the Haitian offices of the haitian offices of Program of Identification and Documentation of Haitian Immigrants (PIDIH) in Dominican soil, are still closed... https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18265-haiti-politic-the-chancellor-promised-passports-to-haitians-in-the-dr.html
