Monday at the Legislative Building, Deputies and Senators are convened in National Assembly at noon for the opening of the 2nd year of the 50th legislature, in accordance with the Constitution (Articles 98, 98.1, 98.3, 10 and paragraph 151) which states that the second Monday of January is reserved for the opening of the first ordinary session of the legislative year.

According to a note from the Office of the National Assembly bearing the signatures of the presidents of both chambers, Ronald Larèche, the President of the Senate indicates that the session of validation of the credentials and the taking of oath of new senators will take place at 10:00 am in order to reduce the risk of absence of quorum...

At this National Assembly, de facto President Jocelerme Privert will deliver his speech on the state of the nation and Prime Minister Enex Jean Charles will take stock of his Government.

A rumor suggests that the senators of PHTK and allies might boycott the speech of Privert they do not recognize the authority nor the legality, since the end of his term, which ended on past 14 June.
