iciHaiti - Security : Delivery of materials to the committees of the Civil Protection
Friday at the Karibe Convention Center, Anick François Joseph, Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, closed the workshop of reorientation and capacity building of the Communal Committees of Civil Protection (CCPC) and invited all citizens to training and constant vigilance in all the moments in the individual and institutional behaviors in the framework of the prevention and the management of the risks.

During the workshop, Minister Joseph signed contracts with representatives of Haitian training firms in favor of the Municipal Civil Protection Committees and distributed 60 motorcycles to Mayors and CCPC members of the West, South and Nippes, in order to strengthen the potential of these local Civil Protection structures.

In addition, Jean Marie Altéma, the Director-General of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL), presented to the Directorate of Civil Protection a batch of communication equipment, donated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), to strengthen the system https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19146-haiti-technology-donation-of-emergency-communications-equipment.html . He expressed concern about emergency communication in Haiti and promised to continue to support the National Risk Management System for better results in the management of operations.

For his part, Jude Saint-Natus, the Director General of the Ministry of the Interior, after thanking CONATEL for this equipment, questioned on what us Haitians do with our territory, face the problem of risks and disasters. He took the opportunity to call on the Haitians to reconcile their environment with civic responsibility and the constant mobilization to raise awareness with young volunteers for a balanced management of the national territory face of major natural hazards.
