iciHaiti - Business : Conciliation and Arbitration for Investors

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH), the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of Haiti (CCAH) affiliated to the CCIH, and the Center of Facilitation of the Investments (CFI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of a strengthening plan and their desire to offer Haitian and foreign investors effective solutions to resolve trade disputes, that are the Mediation and Arbitration.

The signatories to this protocol were Carline Joseph, President of the CCIH, Wilhelm Lemke, President of the CCAH and Norma Powell, Director General of the CFI.

"The protocol is to arrive at an arbitration clause for all contracts, agreements and approvals. It allows disputes that arise in any relationship to be settled much more quickly, within a maximum of 6 months, where the cost is known in advance by the parties," said Wilhelm Lemke, pointing out that the decision, once taken, protects the relationship.

Thus any entrepreneur can contact its Chamber of Commerce through the 10 departments of the country to be advised or to explain what it would like to settle.
